Get the best real time marine information in Gippsland.Live webcam feeds are accessible from three separate cameras; two at Lakes Entrance overlooking the entrance, and one from a good position to view the current conditions at Bastion Point boatramp at Mallacoota.Real time local tide and weather information (at approximate 5 minute intervals) can also be accessed for Lakes Entrance, whilst tidal information only is available for Port Welshpool.A wave rider buoy located approximately 1.5nm SE of the entrance in 23m of water provides users with wave height & direction, frequency and water temperature readings. To further assist waterways users, links to still images that are refreshed every 1-5 minutes are provided from other entities feeds at Cape Conran boatramp, Port Albert and Loch Sport. The Loch Sport site also provides local real-time weather information relevant to waterway users contemplating a trip to Loch Sport from further east. The Waterways Online (Web Map) tool has been developed in-house to provide users of waterways under the management of Gippsland Ports with the latest information available. The tool, which is probably best suited to use with a tablet/Ipad with SIM card access when on the water, will also plot the current location on the map if the “Location Services” Ipad or equivalent option is turned on. There are many layers of information in this tool for the use of waterway users. A further benefit of the App is the access to recent news items covering various subjects relevant to Gippsland Ports and that may be of an interest to users. The App also allows users via a simple process to either call the Head Office (during normal business hours) or email details directly to the Head office. Please note that the email address is not monitored outside of normal business hours. All feedback received is registered and an action officer assigned.
